Top: 1869 Sporting Carbine, .50-70, double set triggers, 22″ round barrel, high grade walnut stock, pewter tip (darkened with age and difficult to see in photo), listed in the original Sharps records as a Model 1869 “Fancy Carbine” and shipped to Walter Cooper, Bozeman, Montana Territory on June 14, 1872. Only ten of these Model 1869 Fancy Carbines were produced.
